Volunteering: Stewards for Unity in the Community Event
Stewards for “Unity in Community” Event
We require at least 30 friendly faces to steward at the Unity in Community event, which takes place between 11am and 2pm on Saturday 19th October
Two stewards will be standing at each entrance to Minster Park & the Minster building to welcome people and to answer any questions. There will be 12 of you on duty at any one time – and also some “roving stewards” from the planning team who will be wandering around the site making sure all is going smoothly
Each steward will have a hi-viz jacket to wear, and will be on duty for at least one hour – so you will need to wrap up warm!
We would appreciate it if some stewards could sign up to come early at 10am to help set up, in addition to the hour “on duty” – and if others could agree to stay late until 3pm to help to tidy up/litter-pick etc.
We need to do a safety briefing before the event, so that you are familiar with the layout of the event, and know what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency.
This will take place on Friday 18th October at 6pm

By booking onto/attending an SU event, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions below.
For Your SU led events, ticket refunds are available on request to yoursuevents@sunderland.ac.uk.
Full refunds will be available within 14 days of the ticket booking date, unless the event is due to go ahead within 72 hours. This is to allow us to make the ticket available for resale. If a refund is requested more than 14 days after booking, or the event is taking place within 72 hours, a refund cannot be claimed.
Tickets are non transferable and cannot be re-sold. Any tickets that are found to be transferred or re-sold will not be valid. The only place you can buy a valid ticket for a Sunderland SU event is via our website.
Unless otherwise stated, participants are not permitted to attend with children due to safeguarding and risk assessment reasons.
Unless otherwise stated, our events are open to STUDENTS of the University of Sunderland ONLY.
