Volunteering: A Space to Grow Drop in Sessions

Join Durham Wildlife Trust for a friendly volunteering drop-in session at the community garden on the first Wednesday afternoon of each month.

These sessions are a great opportunity to:

  • Learn what’s happening in the garden that month

  • Get seasonal tips on planting and garden care

  • Receive guidance on key tasks to support the garden’s health and biodiversity

No experience is needed—just come along, get involved, and enjoy some time outdoors with others who care about nature and sustainability.

A Space 2 Grow is a vibrant community garden located beside St Peter’s Church in Monkwearmouth.

This welcoming outdoor space offers a chance to connect with others and embrace sustainable living through activities such as:

  • 🌱 Gardening

  • 🎨 Painting

  • ✂️ Crafting

  • 🧘 Mindfulness and prayer

  • 🎉 Community events

Whether you're looking to relax, get creative, or lend a hand, you're welcome to drop by the garden anytime.
