The Great North Run is a half marathon that takes place on Sunday 10th September - seeing 60,000 participants run from Newcastle all the way through to South Shields. In order to help the runners make it, volunteers are an essential part of the day. Volunteers keep the runners hydrated, manage the baggage area, marshal the route to show them where to go and provide supportive cheers. They are a vital resource for the runners, helping over 60,000 people get across the finish line with their energy and passion.
Get involved in the following roles:
Site Information Team: Looking for 20 volunteers from 0745 to 1730 to help direct the public in the northern end of the site primarily from the Meeting Point to the Charity Village, Baggage Buses, Finishers Marquee & Town Centre, whilst also providing general event information to anyone who asks for it.
OR
Baggage Bus Information Team: Looking for 2 to 4 volunteers from 0745 to 1600 to assists runners with baggage related queries; directing them to the correct buses and dealing with any issues.
