Talking Travel With U3A

The U3A and the Students' Union are looking for students from all ages and backgrounds to present a short 10-15 minute talk about your home country or region or alternatively a place you've visited you are passionate about. You will be required to deliver the talk to the members at group event. You can choose to present in any way you wish: Power Point presentation, showing printed photographs, sketchbooks and journals. You might like to focus on certain places or events, about people or animals - overseas or in the UK. This is a great opportunity to support the community whilst enhancing skills on your C.V.

This is a relaxed event and afterwards there will be a chance to meet and chat with the members. There will be free tea and sweet treats after!

Please note this volunteer opportunity is off-campus, you will be required to make your own way to Sunderland Bangladesh International Centre.

What is the U3A?

Founded over 35 years ago, the UK U3A movement (based loosely on the French model) aims to encourage groups of people in their third age to come together and continue their enjoyment of learning in subjects of interest to them. The Wearside U3A was formed in 1993 and is a registered charity. It offers a range of educations and creative opportunities for retired people and/or those nearing retirement age.
