Public Speaking: Finding Your Voice
Public speaking can feel terrifying, but it does not have to be. This session is designed to help students feel more confident speaking in front of others, whether that is giving a presentation, running for election, speaking in a meeting, hosting an event, or just trying not to panic when someone says “does anyone have any questions?”
The training will cover how to structure what you want to say, how to use your voice, how to deal with nerves, and how to connect with an audience without sounding like you are reading from a robot’s diary. Students will get practical tips, simple techniques, and the chance to practise in a supportive space. (NO ONE WILL BE ASKED TO SPEAK IN PUBLIC)
By the end of the session, students should feel more prepared, more confident, and more able to speak clearly, authentically, and with impact.
