Open to everyone living, working or studying in Sunderland. 

Show us what diversity in Sunderland University and Sunderland City looks like through your eyes!

We know that Sunderland University and the City of Sunderland are diverse and vibrant places and we want you to show us why you think so too!

Send us a photograph of what diversity means in Sunderland, through a snapshot. What do you see? How do you see it? Don’t limit yourself – think outside the box. Use your mobile phones, tablets, cameras...and get snapping.

According to Oxford Dictionary, Diversity means: the state of being diverse. And Diverse means: showing a great deal of variety; very different...

Your photo could feature people, places, lectures, sports, organizations, businesses, food, signs, message boards, and beyond—the sky is the limit! 

10 pictures will be chosen by a panel judges and the people who submitted them will each win a variety of really cool prizes including: Hoodies, T-Shirts, vouchers and much more. 

The contest is open from Saturday, 1st of November until Sunday, 16th of November. Winners will be announced soon after the closing deadline. 

One photo per person!

Submit your photos:

Please include a short description of the photo and your name. 

The 10 lucky winners will be notified in the last week of November.

All pictures will be displayed on University of Sunderland Students’ Union website and in the Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens. 

Competition Rules:
1. Open to everybody who works, studies or lives in Sunderland.
2. Photos must be taken in the City of Sunderland (including the University of course).
3. One photograph submission per person.
4. Photos submitted must not contain inappropriate or offensive content.
5. Any photo deemed to contain offensive or inappropriate content will be disqualified by the committee or the judges. The decision of the committee and/or judges on this matter is final.
6. All submitted photos will be displayed during the Celebration of Diversity event.
7. Winning photos, including photographer’s name and photo caption, will be displayed publicly.
