Meet Your Chancellor
In November 2023, the University of Sunderland welcomed their new Chancellor as Leanne Cahill was installed into the role, replacing the outgoing Emeli Sande MBE.
Your SU will be hosting Leanne in Your SU @ CitySpace from 10:15am on Friday 22nd March. You are all invited to join us for a chance to find out more about your new Chancellor as she answers your questions.
Who is your new Chancellor?
Leanne Cahill, CEO of retail company Bravissimo and Sunderland graduate, was appointed as the University’s Chancellor in November 2023. Born and raised in Sunderland, Leanne began her career on the shopfloor as a Marks & Spencer management trainee before specialising in finance. She has since held a wide range of roles at Legal & General, Walgreens Boots Alliance and Travelex. Leanne joined Bravissimo in October 2017 as finance director. She was promoted to managing director in September 2018, becoming chief executive officer in December 2020. In 2023 she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from the University of Sunderland.

By booking onto/attending an SU event, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions below.
For Your SU led events, ticket refunds are available on request to yoursuevents@sunderland.ac.uk.
Full refunds will be available within 14 days of the ticket booking date, unless the event is due to go ahead within 72 hours. This is to allow us to make the ticket available for resale. If a refund is requested more than 14 days after booking, or the event is taking place within 72 hours, a refund cannot be claimed.
Tickets are non transferable and cannot be re-sold. Any tickets that are found to be transferred or re-sold will not be valid. The only place you can buy a valid ticket for a Sunderland SU event is via our website.
Unless otherwise stated, participants are not permitted to attend with children due to safeguarding and risk assessment reasons.
Unless otherwise stated, our events are open to STUDENTS of the University of Sunderland ONLY.
