Community Organising Training with Citizens Tyne and Wear

Join us for our 'Introduction to Community Organising' training.

This free training will take place over 4 consecutive Wednesday 1:00PM - 4:00PM in October:

  • October 1st
  • October 8th
  • October 15th
  • October 22nd

This introductory training aims to equip individuals to help lead community organising in their institutions. The training will cover all essential aspects of the curriculum for community organising, including:

  • Listening - Why and how to communicate self-interest, do 121s, listen for issues affecting people in your institution.
  • Issues - How to present issues and work with others to prioritise issues in a broad-based organisation.
  • Research - How to research common issues, analyse power and plan SMART campaign goals.
  • Action - How to understand different cultures and organise a public action.
  • Negotiation - How to generate turnout and negotiate with power holders.
  • Evaluation - How to evaluate, celebrate, reflect on power and leadership, develop a habit of action.

Attendance is free. Light refreshments provided.

Please note: After you sign up, Citizens Tyne and Wear will be in touch to introduce themselves and tell you more about the course. Your SU is happy to reimburse the cost of travel to the venue.
