Accessibility Information - SU Social Space, Edinburgh Building

Access

Access to this building is available through Gateway building or from the outside. Outside access is located via ramp or step. It is the building in between Gateway and CitySpace, located next to Team Sunderland’s office. The entrance is marked from the outside with a sideways ‘Welcome’ sign on the door and ‘Your SU*’ on the window to the left of it. To the left of the window, there is a large square button that opens the door, marked ‘push to open’.

There is a ramped/sloped access by a sign marked ‘Your Place’. This has a slight gradient. Press the large square button, marked ‘push to open’, to open the door. The door opens towards you, so please stay on the side next to the window and allow the door to open.

Entering the building via this way will lead you to the SU Social Space, where this event takes place.

It is possible to also enter through Gateway, via stairs or a lift.

Toilets

Toilets can be accessed either in Gateway or upstairs in Edinburgh building (via the main double door entrance of the SU). There is also an accessible toilet through the Students’ Union Office.
