We’re here to help make your stay at Sunderland a happy and memorable one.
Sunderland Students’ Union is run by students for students.
Your Executive Committee is elected from and by the student body in a cross campus election and holds office for one academic year. There are 5 full time sabbatical officers and 4 non sabbaticals, working hard for you, making sure your voice is heard and your needs are met.
Elections are held in March for the incoming Executive Committee for the next year.
The Exec have individual areas of responsibility and, as trustees of the Union, also oversee the day to day running of your Students’ Union, operating under the rules laid down by the Articles of Association.
They are supported in this by the General Manager, Deputy Manager and the permanent staff team.
The Student Voice is crucial in deciding how the Union is run and the main channels for gaining this feedback are the Annual General Meeting and the Students’ Council.
The governance of the Students’ Union has undergone a major review in the past couple of years and changes to the way the Union is run have been agreed by the student body and the University’s Board of Governors and are now being implemented.
Make sure you let the Executive Committee know what you think and want by emailing the Vice President - su.vice-president@sunderland.ac.uk

Thanks for your feedback!
