EXECUTIVE ELECTIONS 2012

Nominations NOW open for the vacant positions below.
Interested…...then call and collect a nomination form and the Guidelines and information on all you need to know re standing for election.
Nominations close at midday Friday 18 May 2012
Nomination forms need to be completed, checked and verified before this time for candidates to continue in the election.

The vacant positions are:


Sabbatical Role:
ENTS AND MEDIA OFFICER
*SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES OFFICER
(*re election due to withdrawal by officer elect)
and
Non Sabbatical Roles:
STUDENT REP OFFICER
INTERNATIONAL OFFICER
LGB OFFICER


Other important dates are:
Candidate Briefing -  Friday 18 May 2012 at 2pm in the Gateway Room 1.
This is compulsory attendance for all candidates standing for the above positions.

Question Time - Thursday 24 May 12 at 12pm in David Goldman IC Room 109, St Peters Campus.
Everyone welcome - come and hear what the candidates have to say!!

Pre Election Party -  Friday 25 May 2012 at 6pm in North Shore.
Everyone welcome - come and join in the fun and meet the candidates.

VOTING -  Monday and Tuesday 28/29 May 2012.
Ballot boxes at various venues across both compuses.

Election for all the sabbatical and non sabbatical positions come up for election annually around March each year.

Then don’t hesitate - come and find out more, speak to any of the present Executive or Marian Alderson in the Students’ Union offices in Edinburgh Building.

To stand for a sabbatical position you must be in your second or subsequent year of study here at Sunderland, i.e. taking a year out after being here two years or more or due to graduate and completed your course of study.
To stand for a non sabbatical position you must be a registered student here at Sunderland University, i.e. as long as you are registered on a course of study.

Once Nominations are open - all interested students must collect a Nomination Form from Marian, the Assistant Returning Officer, who is based in the Students’ Union Offices in Edinburgh Building. Marian will go through the process in detail with each nominee.
Nominations are open for a week and completed nomination forms must be returned to Marian for checking and verifying BEFORE the close of nominations. 

There are strict rules and guidelines to be followed and all candidates and their campaign teams must follow these rules.

There are specific events that all candidates must attend, i.e. Candidate Briefing/Training, Question Time and the Pre Election Party then it’s all go, go, go campaigning.
