As you might have gathered by now the Union is here for you. The Exec committee are here to work for you and at the end of the day, are answerable to you!
So how do you let us know what you want?
There are several options; obviously contacting us, phone, e-mail, pop by, fax, in the pub, but three formal ones count the most:
Annual General Meeting
Ordinary General Meeting
Students' Council (next meeting 1 May 08)
The AGM (Annual General Meeting) is held once a year, usually in November.
Details will be posted on the web site as soon as they are known.
The AGM is open to all members of the Students' Union. This is where, as a member, you have the chance to hear reports of the work Your Union and Executive Committee have been doing over the past year and to take part in discussing and voting on Union policies and raising any questions you may have for the Exec.
This meeting is where the highest decision making regarding Union policy takes place and, as the Union is YOUR UNION and is led by you, as our student members, it is very important that you attend and take part.
The OGM (Ordinary General Meeting) is also held once a year, usually in the February following the AGM.
Again, details will be posted on the web site as soon as they are available.
The OGM is also open to all members of the Students' Union and follows a similar agenda to the AGM, whilst following up on any matters arising and actions taken since the AGM.
Student Council meetings are far more frequent and are attended by elected student course representatives.
Student Council is where student representatives bring student issues for debate and action, discuss and vote on Union policies and feedback the views of the students they represent.
