Student Ambassadors

JOB TITLE: STUDENT AMBASSADOR FOR STUDENT RECRUITMENT

DEPARTMENT: Student Recruitment in partnership with the
Students' Union

RESPONSIBLE TO:University Student Recruitment Manager and
the Students' Union Personnel and Administration Manager.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To assist the Student Recruitment Team by acting as a representative of the University of Sunderland to positively promote the student experience to potential students and other contacts.

MAIN DUTIES:

1. To assist the Student Recruitment Team at University open days and promotional events.
2. To work with the Student Recruitment Officers on educational liaison and aspiration building activities including presentations, workshops and visit days for regional schools and colleges.
3. To assist in providing individual tours of the university to potential students and visitors.
4. To work with the Student Recruitment Team to host school and college visits to the university including; preparation for the event, supervision of school groups, helping and interacting with visitors, participating in tours and workshops, co-ordinating team building activities.
5. To assist in activities to improve student retention within the university including welcome events for new students.
6. To staff the University Student Helpline.
7. Liaison with University staff in schools and services to maintain full and detailed knowledge of all study opportunities, admission policies, and student facilities within the university.
8. To promote the university by attending local, regional and national exhibitions and fairs when appropriate.
9. To carry out administrative and clerical duties to support the Student Recruitment team.
10. To contribute to the effective and efficient functioning of the department as directed by the Line Manager.
11. Any other duties, appropriate to the position, as required by the Student Recruitment Department and the Students' Union.
