JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: BAR PERSON

RESPONSIBLE TO: DUTY MANAGER

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: serve customers, assist with the bar service and other services as required, and carry out clearing, cleaning and service preparation duties, as directed.

MAIN DUTIES:

Provide a bar service for customers, as required, treating customers with courtesy, as a priority at all times.

Ensure customers are treated with politeness and courtesy at all times, providing help and assistance where required.

Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene, appropriate to a food/beverage service.

To serve food, take orders, and assistance in general catering operation/duties.

Undertake all monetary transactions in accordance with Students' Union procedures.

Clean and maintain service area, in accordance with Students' Union procedures and schedules.

Collect, wash and stack glasses and collect bottles as directed, maintaining a constant supply to provide a fast service to customers.

Re-stock as directed ensuring shelves/areas are washed and cleaned before replenishing stock.

Undertake cellar work as required.

Undertake washing, cleaning and polishing of all surfaces, and areas, as required.

Assist with clearing up the venue, after customers have left the premises, or as directed by the Supervisor or Duty Manager.

The uniform provided must be worn at all times when working. Additionally, a name badge if provided must be worn.

Work in accordance with Students' Union policy and procedures.

Work in accordance with statutory Students' Union Health and Safety obligations and procedures.

Undertake training as required.

Carry out other duties as required.
