7-a-side Intra Mural Football Competition Rules

 

COMPETITON RULES 2004/05

 

1. Where applicable, the laws of the Football Association apply to the competition.

 

2. Games will consist of two 15-minute periods, with a 2-minute half time interval.

 

3. Teams must meet at the side emergency exit door to the crowtree pitch at their 'door time' as listed on the fixture sheet. If a team is late or does not show for their game they will be deemed to have lost the fixture 0-5.

 

4. Teams may be required to supply a referee for other Intra Mural (IM) fixtures, failing to do so will result in the offending team losing 2 points.

 

5. The referee shall be the sole arbiter on points of dispute and he shall be empowered to interpret the rules governing 7-a-side Football bearing in mind the best interests of all parties concerned. The referee's decision is final.

 

6. Any player awarded a red card may be banned, at the discretion of the referee and tournament organiser, from all subsequent Intra Mural competition.

 

7. Eligibility: Students Union members, University Staff

 

8. A team squad must consist of 10 players of the same gender from whom seven shall be chosen to form a team. Two teams consisting of not more than seven players shall play the game, one of whom shall be the goalkeeper. One of the other players may change places with the goalkeeper during the match, provided that notice is given to the referee before such a change is made. If a player is substituted, he may not rejoin the game.

 

9. A team may only make 3 substitutions during a game.

 

10. A player may only play for one team in any one league.

 

11. Players from University football BUSA teams are not allowed to play for any intra mural teams.

 

12. Team managers/coaches can make changes to their squad during the season by applying for team changes to the Sports and Rec officer.

 

13. Goal kicks can only be thrown out, this can be done from anywhere inside the penalty area.

 

14. There is no offside

 

15. Overhead kicks are aloud, however, the ball must be kept below the level of the lights.

 

16. If any team cannot fulfil a fixture, the opposing captain and Matt Dossett (S&R, ext 4119) must be informed at least 48 hours before the game, and an alternative date may be arranged. If not, the offending team will be deemed to have lost the game, 0-5.
