St Partick's Day Tournament
This superb event started a few years ago, teams from hockey, football, gaelic football and mens rugby competed against each other in their own sports.
Last year the event was held at Raich Carter Sport centre on their astro turf and included games of Gaelic football, hurling, rugby and football. There were four mixed teams from the Gaelic, rugby, hockey and football clubs who all played each other at each sport to content for the O'Sullivan-Clarkson Cup. Gaelic were the surprise winners of the cup and the rugby lads picked up the wooden spoon. Drinking games and races started straight after and carried on well into the early hours! I've been told we awarded the trophies on stage in manor quay on the night but it is a bit of a blur to be honest, as it should be!! A fantastic day and night was had by all involved and there was a great atmosphere about the day.
