A small number of people find themselves being forced into marriage. Sometimes this happens in this country because of family pressure or sometimes a person is forced to marry by their family when the person goes abroad to visit.

If you do not wish to go through a forced marriage the FMU will do everything they can to help you.

You may have worries about protecting your passport, along with other aspects of your welfare (e.g. accomodation and finance and personal safety). Our Welfare Advisors can provide advice on these matters.
If you feel that your circumstances are affecting your academic study or progress, our Academic Advisors will be able to advise you on the support available within the university to ensure that your studies are not disrupted.
