Study Tips

These brief guidance notes are intended to help students with their studies - there is nothing new or original in these pages , just general common sense rules that work for some people.

If you need help... ask!

Your personal tutor is there to help you - so make sure that you know who is allocated as your Personal Tutor and get to know him/her. If you are a first or second year full-time on-campus undergraduate you will also have a PDP tutor assigned to you.

University Administrative staff, Student Services staff and the Students' Union are also there to help and support you.

Enjoy a social life

University life is not all academic - some of it is social. The University organises many events and the Students' Union have different [venues|/main/bars] and activities to involve you.

If you are a mature student you may have family, a job or other commitments competing for your time.

It is up to you to organise yourself so that you manage your time effectively so that you can have a mixture of enjoyment and personal development.
