North Shore – THE GREEN CENTRE

COMING SOON:

The Green Centre is completely new and will still be growing for some time. As well as a practical centre for advice on recycling and energy saving, the Centre will feature a swapshop, an organic roof garden and be a centre for the spreading of green thoughts and green fingers throughout the University. We’ve also got Sunderland’s greenest (and coolest) drinks vending machine!!

Coming soon upstairs is the coffee bar but you don’t need to drink coffee (we’ve got lots of other alcohol-free stuff too), just come in and chill out on the balcony and use the Wi-Fi.

We hope to make North Shore a greener place that’s less harmful to the environment. To do this we aim to recycle as much waste as possible, we’re in collaboration with North Shore’s Christmas project to sell mini-christmas trees to students, and we’re opening up a Swap Shop to students, where students can bring their unwanted items and swap them for points or other items in the shop. By doing this we also hope to decrease the amount of general waste and harm to the environment.
