University of Sunderland Students’ Union is run by students for students. In this area of the website you’ll find out all you need to know about how this works and how you can become a Student Champion by getting involved.

Your Executive Committee (The Exec) is elected from and by the student body in a cross-campus Election and holds office for one academic year.

Elections are held in February for the incoming Executive Committee for the next year. We encourage you to consider running for a post on The Exec – it may seem a daunting prospect but it can be truly life changing and you will have all the support you need from the permanent staff team.

The Student Voice is crucial in deciding how the Union is run and the main channels for gaining this feedback are the Annual General Meeting and the Students’ Council.

So you can be a Student Champion on a number of levels – from attending the AGM to becoming a Student Representative or even taking up a Sabbatical Officer role. Whichever route you choose, we encourage you to get involved!
