In an effort to monitor and improve accommodation standards for all students, the Student Union are fully backing this initiative, working with Residential Services who are inviting you to take part in this year’s National Student Housing Survey.
The results will help us to monitor the standard of accommodation available and improve conditions for future occupants.
In addition, completing the survey automatically enters you into two prize draws (national and Sunderland) to win a range of cash prizes up to £500.
This is the first year Sunderland has taken part and we hope you will take the time out of you busy schedule to feedback on such an important area as housing.

Join the University of Sunderland students for a festival of Dance, Drama, Music and Art
Location: The Customs House, South Shields
Students from the University of Sunderland Faculty of Arts, Design and Media who will take over the Customs House in South Shields to stage SunFest - an exciting programme of dance, drama, music and visual arts.
Following on from the success of last year’s venture, where students performed over 20 shows, the popular South Tyneside arts venue has again handed over the reins of its entire entertainments schedule.
Some of the programme highlights include: King Lear, an Evening of Jazz, Ballet and Contemporary Dance and Hollywood Night, there is also an evening with international opera star Graeme Danby.
Students from the University of Sunderland music degree, based at The Sage Gateshead, will perform an evening of acoustic music as part of the festival.

Trip to Grasmere for some special gingerbread and Windermere

We will be travelling from Sunderland through some of the most dramatic countryside the UK has to offer!!
We will be stopping off at the village of Grasmere for a few hours for you to enjoy the atmosphere, scenery and the little local shops. Make sure to stop off at the world famous gingerbread shop and pick up the tasty treat (beware it is not just ordinary gingerbread it is something very special). We will then be travelling to Bowness on Windermere for you to enjoy the afternoon to enjoy the lake side and town.
Tickets include all coach transport on the day to both Grasmere and Windermere and also back to Sunderland.
Hopefully the weather will be nice but over the Lake District it can be very wet, so make sure to bring a water proof jacket!
