FAQs

You can vote between 9am-9pm on Monday 4th March until Thursday 7th March, and then between 9am-2pm on Friday 8th March.

When you log in, you will be presented with the ballot for every position. All students can vote in every position, regardless of whether you are at Sunderland or London. You can vote for more than one person in a position – the order that you click on each name indicates the order of preference you have for each candidate. When you have finished the order, complete your ballot and you will be able to move on to the next position.

You can vote by logging in to the SU website with your student account – you’ll then be asked to vote. If you don’t vote then, you can vote on the voting page.

Once you have voted, you can’t change your vote, so make sure you read about every candidate and check that you have ordered all of your votes in the right preference before you submit them.

We encourage you to look at each of the candidates’ profiles on our website, both full-time officer candidates and part-time officer candidates, and think about who you would like to represent you and your university experience. Remember that you can vote in order of preference!

Yes, as long as you are signed in on this website via the student login, you are able to vote.

Re-Open Nominations or 'RON' is not a person, but is an option to vote for which allows voters to choose not to elect any of the candidates in the election. If RON wins the election, then no candidate has won outright, and the position is left vacant until filled. Re-Open Nominations is a candidate in all elections so that if a voter believes there is no other candidate running who they feel best represents them, they can still have their say.
